Hi, I'm Mary from coloradotoethiopia.blogspot.com, and I just read your amazing comment. Are you working with Vicki? I would like to get a group of Colorado families adopting from Ethiopia set up. It would be great to be able to meet every so often with all of our kiddos. Do you know of other families in Colorado adopting from Ethiopia?
I am working with Vicki. I don't know anyone else adopting from Ethiopia. I know a lot of people that have adopted from China. I originally became more aware of Ethiopia after reading "There is No Me Without You". At that point I still thought that I might be losing my mind wanting to adopt at all. My thoughts went back to the children of Ethiopia when I realized I wouldn't qualify to adopt in China, since I am not married and too old ( only on paper, of course). The race issue was also a consideration, since Steamboat is a pretty fair haired community. So, I would love to have a group of people to connect with. My son, Bryan will also have some similar cultural issues to deal with since he looks just like his father, who is from Nicaragua, also I'm not his biological mother. A group would be great! Where are you located?
Michelle! I finally have a book recommendation for YOU...Its a must read called Esperanza Rising. It tops my list and reminds me very much of you. Tell me what you think.
Thank you for the recommendation. I am familiar with that book, yet I haven't read it. It's going to the top of my list! I'm still keeping an eye out for books for your students.
I am still employed at the library and embracing my enlightenment regarding home-ownership, mental health, and life. Read more about me at the top of my blog where it reads "who i am and my new Trailer Class status." Hrumph, they didn't give me enough room here to talk about myself.
